Asinara Fishing Tourism:

Fishing from the boat with Davide & Silvia

Asinara fishing tourism is the excitement to spend a day aboard Motopesca Alex with Davide & Silvia, discovering ancient sustainable fishing techniques.

Davide and Silvia will explain the park's environment and marine life, will identify where you can find the most peculiar glimpses of this coast as well as giving you an overview of the nature, traditions, environment and sea life, adding you an insight of local stories and legends. This is why more and more people choose the experience of fishing tourism in Asinara for their holiday. So, a lifetime opportunity to immerse yourself into the culture of fishing and sea, to spend a relaxing day full of emotion together, sailing among the crystalline waters of Asinara National Park.

DAY TRIP

Departure at 9:30 a.m. from Stintino harbour

Coastal trip around Asinara National Park during which the crew will give you a demonstration of artisanal fishing techniques and will show you how fishing pots and nets work. You can observe various steps of fishing.

A part of the catch will be cooked and served to our guests. The menu includes a fresh seafood main course and a second course, local wine, coffee and digestif.

During the day there are several stops in some amazing bays: Punta Lunga, Cala del Granito, Cala degli Inglesi, Cala delle Barche Napoletane, Porto del Bianco. Moreover there will be one or two stop-over on-shore at Cala Reale or Fornelli for a short walk.

In Cala Reale you can visit “Crama Center”, the Marine Turtles Recovery Center, and the “Lazzaretto”. You may also visit the build of “Palazzo Reale”, now seat of the Park Authority.

In Fornelli you can visit the ex-high security prison (SHU).

Finally, on the way back, the fishing gear used in the morning will be lowered into the sea to get ready for the next day's trip.

The arrival at the port is at h17:30.

In case of strong waves or bad weather in general, every stop, time and mode of the excursion could be changed at the discretion of the Captain.

Stops, timetables and excursion methods may vary according to marine weather conditions and at the captain's discretion.

N.B.  The payment of the deposit is mandatory for the purpose of confirming the reservation. It is possible to cancel the maximum excursion within 24 hours of departure. Otherwise the deposit paid will be retained. 

The excursion does not include extra costs that do not depend on our activity, for example entrance to the Sea Turtle Center (cost 2.50 euros).

Departure: from Porto Mannu di Stintino (Coast Guard forecourt)

It is advisable to show up at boarding at least 20 minutes before departure.

DON'T FORGET

  • sunscreen

  • beach towel, swimsuit and every equipement to take a bath

  • warm clothes (a sweatshirt or a jacket)

  • flip-flops are ideal when you go ashore

  • we have first aid equipements, but in case of allergies or special needs, it's important to have your medicines with you.
